PTA
Villiers School Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) promotes the welfare of the school and its pupils, through co-operation and communication between parents, staff and Board of Management, and by encouraging social and other activities among members.
The committee meets on a monthly basis throughout the school year and consists of:
- Two parent representatives from each year
- Two boarder parent representatives
- Two board of management parent representatives
- Two teacher representatives
- The Head of School
The committee aims to bring positive influence to the school, while supporting teacher and student initiatives, advancement of school programmes and development of school policies.
Examples of activities supported / financed by the PTA over the last few years include:
- Sponsorship of Model United Nations trips
- Supporting Hockey at Villiers
- New specialist machine for the quilting club
- New specialist laser cutter machine for the technology lab
- Sponsorship of Craft Club
- “Cracking the Code” presentation to guide parents through the CAO process and coping with college
- Drinks reception for parents at Villiers Debs annually
- Prize Day Award
- Restoration of Derravoher House
Fundraising events include:
- Dinner Dance
- Annual Summer Garden Fete
- Second Hand Uniform Sales
