Pieta Amber Flag Award for Villiers!
Promoting Positive Mental HealthVilliers School is delighted to have been awarded the Pieta Amber Flag for 2023-2024.
This initiative recognises the individual efforts to create healthy, inclusive environments that support the mental well-being of schools in Ireland.
As part of this award, the Amber Flag committee, led by teachers Aislinn Dillon, Jess Warde and Emma Rea, organised monthly ‘Feel Good Friday’ events in school and a Wellness Week held in early April. This week focused on promoting movement and positivity, and included yoga, mindfulness activities and a pancake morning in aid of Pieta. Transition Year Leadership and Social & Health students also led wellbeing sessions with Junior Cycle classes during this week.
Mindfulness and yoga sessions were also introduced to the boarding community this year, while many students also participated in the school running club, with an early morning session and an afternoon session available to choose from.
