Villiers School is delighted to be an active Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre!
As an active preparation centre, we prepare and register our students for Cambridge English Qualifications, in partnership with the authorised exam centre at the University of Limerick.
For Villiers students whose native language is not English, English as an additional language (EAL) classes are included in their tuition fees. Many students also participate in additional after-school classes in Cambridge English exam preparation. In Villiers, the EAL teacher will act as a personal guide for their English students, helping with any questions or concerns that might arise. There will be specific EAL lessons timetabled each week. These lessons will cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening practice, writing practice and conversation.
Most students studying English as an additional language in Villiers prepare for the First Certificate in English (FCE), which they sit in May of each academic year. In May 2023, we also had an increasing number of senior students sit the Advanced Certificate in English (ACE).
Cambridge English exams are officially accepted by thousands of universities, employers and governments globally. They can open doors to higher education, improve job prospects and, because the qualifications are so well-known globally, increase mobility.
