Red Sokz! What is it?
Villiers' Girls, apart from those in Form VI wear Red Socks. This is
part of the long standing tradition of this almost two hundred Year old
School.
Red Sokz is not
as old as that; it is only a baby by comparison. The first issue was
published on September 7th, 2001 and thus began Volume I. It is a
newsletter by Villiers Students, particularly Transition Years,
published for students, staff and people in the wider Villiers
Community.
The pioneering
bunch involved in Volume I saw the newsletter improve
steadily, in terms of content and popularity, as new issues
appeared. These young publishers moved on into Form V and the
incoming Transitions Years took up the challenge and brought us
Volume II with Issue I published on September 6th, 2002. Once again
sadly a group of excellent publishers have moved onto Form V
Volume III began with Issue
I published on September 19th 2003 with the new Transition Year
students taking up the challenge from their predecessors. We would
like to thank them for their hard year's work in bring Red Sokz to
us. In particular we would like to thank Barry Kennedy and Jade
O'Mahony for their huge commitment right through the year.
Volume IV began in September
'04 with a new Transition Year group involved. We would like to wish
this group all the best for the year ahead. Keep an eye on the
Archive to catch the latest from the
newsletter.
