Villiers Secondary School is a co-educational, fee paying, boarding and day secondary school, located on the North Circular Road, Limerick, Ireland.
Founded under the will of Mrs. Hannah Villiers in 1821, Villiers has a Protestant ethos and is managed jointly by the headmistress, board of management and a board of governors. The management and staff embrace and maintain the traditional values of the school and balance them with modern, state of the art educational facilities to develop an environment which engenders growth on an academic, cultural and social level.
Boarders account for about 30% of the student body, with the rest living locally. The student body is multi-denominational and diverse, including students from Spain, Germany, France, Moldovia and Russia.
The school has recently been modernised and extended with state of the art science laboratories, art room, technology labs, and a large IT suite. All classrooms have been similarly modernised, many with interactive white-boards and other modern media. Furthermore the gymnasium and hockey pitch are complimented by new changing rooms and pavilion.

In Villiers we pride ourselves on the care we give our students. We believe education goes beyond classroom academics and we focus on the individual at a deeper level. We strive to ensure our students leave Villiers as young adults entering the world with a sense of integrity, determination, responsibility, kindness and a positive attitude towards life.

Our school was founded almost 200 years ago and seamlessly blends traditional education with a multitude of other experiences, be they on the sports field, in the world of arts and music or in personal development.

We are a diverse School with boys and girls, boarders and day students, many nationalities, cultures and creeds. We offer a wide academic curriculum, excellent teaching facilities and we pride ourselves on small class sizes. The majority of our students take university places. We believe every individual should fulfill their potential and are as proud of six passes in the Leaving Cert as six hundred points if each student has achieved their optimum.

We are dedicated to developing each student as an individual, our pastoral care throughout the school goes hand in hand with ensuring personal success.

The junior certificate results of 2011 continued the trend of high achievement for Villiers
Annalee is first in Ireland
PRIZE DAY will take place on Wednesday February 22nd from 9.00am to 11am. A breakfast reception will be held for parents in the school café from 8.30am. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Family Fun Quiz-Villiers PTA are holding a family quiz on Tuesday March 6th in the school sports hall. This promises to be a very enjoyable night and all are invited to participate.

Congratulations to last years 6th former, Kayleigh Yeoman on her participation in Operation Transformation. Her courage and honesty is much admired and appreciated by all of her ‘followers.

Villiers Says Farewell to Mr. Lillis & Ms. McDonnell:
With great sadness, but with sincere good wishes, we acknowledge the retirement of Maths and Irish teacher Ms. Eilish Mc Donnell from Villiers School and Family. She has given over 10 years of professionalism to the school and will be sadly missed.
