Transition Year

This year achieves three valuable objectives:

1. Sample a wide range of academic subjects before reaching decisions on Leaving Certificate choices.
2. Reaching a vital level of maturity before embarking upon the Leaving Certificate cycle.
3. Students gain experience in non-curricular areas, thereby helping career guidance.

Subjects:

The following subjects are compulsory and thereafter, students are afforded the opportunity to attend classes from the wide range of Leaving Certificate subjects available below.

Irish	French
RE	Media Studies

ICT - Information and Communication Technology - is another part of Transition Year. Students can work towards gaining modules of the ECDL {European Computer Driving Licence}. Students therefore acquire necessary ICT skills for Leaving Cert. project work, career investigation etc.

LCVP - Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme -
