Boys Hockey

Boys hockey has been part of Villiers life from its foundation. Many past pupils have fond memories of competing in Munster leagues and cups, all Ireland competitions and annual tours. Many students have and continue to represent the school in Munster and Irish colours.

Hockey continues to thrive in Villiers and is played at u13, u14, junior and senior level. Training takes place on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3.45 - 5.00. Matches are generally played on a Wednesday. Regular opponents include Bandon Grammar, Ashton school, Newtown school and Midleton college. These are mixed with trips to Kilkenny college, King's hospital school and Wesley college in Dublin.

An annual tour takes us to the UK, generally Edinburgh or Liverpool with normally the senior and u14's. 1st yrs take part in a series of blitz's throughout the season, while all other levels compete in both Munster league and cup competitions.

All boys are encouraged to participate and become involved, no matter their age or ability.
